A Short Description of Terradue

Terradue Srl is an Italian SME that addresses the Earth Sciences research & education sector, with core competencies aimed at engineering distributed systems and Cloud services. Terradue supports international organizations, research institutes and commercial companies in deploying their Earth Observation services into cloud platforms tapping new computational and data resources.

Terradue is a leading Earth Science Cloud Services provider with current developments focusing on empowering researchers in curating and delivering scientific information, and to create Cloud marketplaces for environmental data analytics. Terradue is a GEO associate and has a wide experience and knowledge on how to tap into the sensor data resources indexed by the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) that is being built by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO). With the participation in several European Commission and European Space Agency projects, Terradue gained a wide experience and knowledge in the deployment and interoperability of EO data processing services for large time series in several cloud providers avoiding the cloud lock-in issue, be it on the Copernicus DIAS or commercial providers.

Role In Project

The main role and tasks allocated to Terradue in Iliad

Terradue brings to the consortium its expertise in the provision of EO data and distributed computing platforms, enabling scientific applications to exploit distributed processing capabilities without re-engineering them. Terradue will provide its cloud platform and framework for developing and hosting services that allow the deployment and scaling of tools and applications from scientific, research and commercial partners.
