A Short Description of CEA

CEA List is one of CEA Tech three technological research institutes constituting CEA technological Division and dedicated to smart digital systems. Within this organization, the Interactive Simulation Laboratory (LSI) conducts research on real-time simulation.

The LSI laboratory, within an ecosystem involving interactive simulation and extended reality technologies, designs and develops a multi-physics simulation platform, XDE Physics, answering industrial needs namely in manufacturing (Industry 4.0/digital twin), education & training, mission planning and rehearsal, etc. From a scientific point of view, the LSI addresses the challenges of producing interactive simulation of physical phenomena (rigid and deformable parts, multi-body systems, and fluid interaction). More specifically for this project, the LSI has been developing simulation capabilities in strongly normalized contexts (DNV norms and guidelines) addressing offshore and subsea domain of operations.

Role In Project

The main role and tasks allocated to CEA in Iliad

WP4: Provide with our data requirements for TechnipFMC use cases.

WP7: Oil and gas pilot: Couple with the Iliad observing system in order to provide with local weather and sea state data to use-cases in the oil and gas sector as provided by TechnipFMC.
