The second UN Ocean Conference

The second UN Ocean Conference will take place in Lisbon, Portugal from 27th June – 1st July 2022.

Co-hosted by the Governments of Kenya and Portugal, this conference will focus on developing solutions for creating sustainably managed oceans using state-of-the-art marine resources and green technologies. Topics covered will include addressing marine pollution, strengthening ocean-based economies, managing ecosystems, sustainable fisheries, conservation and international law, and interlinkages between Sustainable Development Goal 14 and other Goals towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

Several side events will take place alongside the main conference, these will be organised by the Member States, Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs), UN entities, and other authorised establishments.

All participants who are involved or interested in these topics are encouraged to attend either in person or virtually.
