First Data Buoy Cooperation Panel Mediterranean Training Workshop on Ocean Observations and Data Applications

Location: Royal ASBU Tunis, Avenue Mohamed Fadhel Benachour centre Urbain Nord, 1003 Tunis, Tunisia

The workshop is being organised in Tunisia by the Ministry of Transport and the National Institute of Meteorology (INM), in collaboration with several organisations, including the WMO-IOC Data Buoy Cooperation Panel (DBCP), OceanOPS/WMO and the National Center of Ocean Standards and Metrology (NCOSM) from China. The primary objective of this workshop is to enhance the capacity of the Mediterranean region to apply ocean observations for social and economic benefit, and to improve forecast accuracy. The workshop will cover several themes, including the role of ocean observations in regional weather prediction and climatology, societal and economic benefits, data quality control, new technologies, data access, and applications, and ocean observing capacity in the region.

Iliad Participation

SPA/RAC Director will be delivering a presentation on Marine Environmental Monitoring in the Mediterranean including a section on Iliad activities.
